Carbon monoxide detector triggered record carfentanil seizure, court hears

It was a carbon monoxide alarm in the basement of a north Pickering home that tipped off police to Canada’s largest carfentanil seizure, a court has heard. And the Crown alleges the home’s owner — Maisum Ansari — gave police a false name in September 2017 when asked who had rented the basement apartment where the drugs and dozens of firearms were found.
