Accused Jeffrey Epstein madam Ghislaine Maxwell has let her Brooklyn jail cell become a mess — and frequently doesn’t flush her toilet after using it, prosecutors alleged in a letter Tuesday. In the letter filed in Manhattan federal court, prosecutors responded to a claim — which Maxwell’s lawyers made in February — that she was abused by a jail guard during a search and forced to clean as a punishment at the Metropolitan Detention Center. In reality, prosecutors claimed that guards made Maxwell clean her cell because she let it fall into disarray — letting a stench grow because she often doesn’t flush the toilet after she uses it, prosecutors wrote. “MDC staff directed the defendant to clean her cell because it had become very dirty. Among other things, MDC staff noted that the defendant frequently did not flush her toilet after using it, which caused the cell to smell,” they wrote. They added that all pat-down searches of Maxwell have been recorded and jail officials do not believe she was abused during one of the searches, as her lawyers claimed.
