Watch: Trudeau booed while arriving at Quebec City hall

On Thursday, while arriving at Quebec City hall to meet with Mayor Régis Labeaume, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was met with a crowd of boos. The display comes just one day after former President Barack Obama endorsed the current Prime Minister in the upcoming election. “Justin has been an effective leader and strong voice for democratic values, and I’m proud of the work we did together,” Obama wrote in a Twitter post. On Friday, a similar glowing endorsement came from 2016 presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “I have seen my friend Justin Trudeau show leadership in the fight for accessible child care, protected reproductive rights, and ambition climate action,” wrote Clinton on Friday. “I’m wishing him and our progressive Canadian neighbors the best in Monday’s election,” she continued. The display at city hall comes just days before Canada’s Federal Election on Monday, where the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party are currently tied in the polls.
