It’s been reported that the federal prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden’s tax law violations and business deals withheld critical details from the investigation. According to a recent Politico report, Department of Justice officials who were led by the U.S. attorney in the Biden family’s home state of Delaware, actually postponed investigating Biden’s overseas dealings. Additionally, David Weiss did not release details of the probe to the public until after the presidential election to avoid impacting the race’s outcome. “They advised Weiss to avoid taking any actions that could alert the public to the existence of the case in the middle of a presidential election,” Politico noted. The report acknowledged the move would have likely boosted President Trump’s campaign. Trump appointed Weiss to the position in 2017 at the recommendation of Delaware’s Democrat senators.
