Watch: Trudeau minister won’t say if PM has called Pfizer CEO about vaccines
Procurement Minister Anita Anand appeared on CBC’s Power & Politics yesterday, where she avoided questions from Vassy Kapelos on whether or not the prime minister has spoken directly to the CEO of Pfizer, Albert Bourla. This comes after it was announced that, due to manufacturing issues at Pfizer, Canada would not receive its regular doses of the vaccine for January. Canada will not be receiving any shipments of the vaccine in the last week of January. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Canadians last week that his government had reached an agreement with Pfizer to purchase 20 million additional vaccine doses, once again citing Canada’s large vaccine portfolio.
