HUNTER: Wanted conspiracy enthusiast follows playbook old as time
Once upon a time, I listened to a lot of short wave radio. Alongside some of the premier radio networks in the world, on a clear winter night, you could pick up a veritable gumbo of crazies. One of my personal favourites was William Cooper’s The Hour of the Time that kicked off around midnight with a doomsday-sounding intro and a voice intoning, “Newwwww Wwwworllld ORRRRderrrrr…” The host, and his guests, of course, had the answers to everything. No conspiracy theory was too ludicrous. Apparently, my long-ago girlfriend and I were among the few non-militia, anti-government listeners.
