Tribunal awards $35K for six-year-old girl cuffed by Peel police

The 2016 arrest and handcuffing of a six-year-old Black girl at her school by Peel police has resulted in a $35,000 award by the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. Last March, the tribunal ruled that race was a factor in the girl’s arrest, and that it breached the girl’s human rights.
