Disciplinary hearing clears Edmonton police dog handler after woman’s ‘catastrophic’ 2015 bite injury
Three Edmonton police officers cited with disciplinary charges after a woman suffered “catastrophic” dog bite injuries during a 2015 arrest have been cleared of wrongdoing. Lorraine Cardinal, 33, was bitten twice by police service dog Fozzy during an arrest on Dec. 11, 2015. The second bite came after Cardinal was already in police custody. Fozzy darted from his handler, Const. Kelly Lang, and latched onto Cardinal’s upper left thigh for 10-to-15 agonizing seconds.
