Competent governments know how to deal with more than one issue at a time. Enter Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals, who insist they cannot. That is, they cannot answer questions from the opposition parties, or release documents to the opposition parties, about the government’s actions during the pandemic, including Trudeau’s latest conflict of interest controversy, his self-inflicted WE Charity mess. The Liberals say this would distract from their laser-like focus on the public health and economic threats posed by the pandemic. And yet, just last week, Trudeau was perfectly willing to foist an unwanted election on Canadians, despite the fact a new Leger poll says most Canadians don’t want one until 2022 at the earliest.
