Justin Trudeau made over $1.3 million in speaking fees from 2006-2012
Facing calls of wider transparency in government, the Trudeau cabinet preemptively released records related to Trudeau’s speaking fees on Monday. The records reveal that Trudeau collected $1,341,500 in speaking fees between 2006 and 2012. While Trudeau was initially collecting a few thousand dollars per speaking engagement early on, his election in 2008 as the MP for Papineau caused his payout to increase significantly, averaging $20,000 per an appearance. The payments were made via Trudeau’s talent agency, Speakers’ Spotlight of Toronto.
