A health inspector found problems with COVID-19 control measures at a 17th Avenue sushi restaurant, but what they found in the kitchen forced the complete closure of the restaurant. Inside the kitchen, the inspector found eight separate problems that led AHS to close the restaurant. They included: A raw pig’s head stored unwrapped in a cardboard box in the cooler; Multiple uncovered food buckets in the cooler, including broth; Mouldy food on the exterior and interior edges of numerous food containers; Mouldy food debris on the walls and shelves of the walk in cooler; Raw fish stored next to raw vegetables and above cooked food; Unlabelled chemical spray bottles; Lack of a cleaning schedule.
