It’s not a position many Canadians would expect to see a Quebec premier in, especially not one who used to be part of a separatist government, but Francois Legault will bring several premiers together Friday in Ottawato show a united front. “We are always stronger when we are united, when we stand together, the different provinces,” Legault said Thursday. With the Trudeau government set to unveil their throne speech next Wednesday and a big spending budget shortly after that, the premiers want to make sure their voices are heard. Most of their demands are not new and predate the pandemic, others will be a reaction to what is rumoured to be the new Trudeau agenda. That said, they won’t turn down the money if they have their way. Which this time will likely mean no strings, or few strings, attached.
