We could, in fact, be facing a fall election, as evidenced by the government’s change in attitude, even in the midst of its numerous woes. Should there be an election, it will be fought over the green agenda that Trudeau seems to think is the urgent and only response to the terrific savaging of the Canadian economy brought about by the pandemic. My cynical view is that the COVID crisis is being shunted into play to camouflage the pursuit of an agenda that was there before COVID, and which has nothing to do with COVID. The Conservatives, with their new leader, have an opportunity to return some sanity to how the natural resources of this country are managed. They should definitively, and without qualification, oppose Trudeau’s grand green agenda.
