Scott Stinson: Frustrated and angry over police shootings, Toronto Raptors consider playoff boycott

On Wednesday, with no advance warning, the Milwaukee Bucks did not take the court for their game against the Orlando Magic. Will other teams follow suit? The boycott would be a direct response to the shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man shot multiple times in the back by police in the town of Kenosha, Wis., south of Milwaukee. The postponement of an NBA playoff game in Orlando involving teams based many states and one country away wouldn’t compel municipal authorities to take stronger action against the police officers now on administrative leave. It wouldn’t heal Blake’s severe injuries, it wouldn’t erase the trauma suffered by his young children who witnessed the incident, and it wouldn’t calm the roiling streets of Kenosha.
