Body recovered after man swept into Richmond Hill pond


A body has been recovered after a man was swept into a Richmond Hill pond during a torrential downpour Tuesday night. York Regional Police officers on Wednesday began their search for a 30-year-old Richmond Hill man and pulled his lifeless body from the murky water just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Const. Andy Pattenden said two men were inside a large storm drain between two holding ponds at Major Mackenzie Dr. E. and Frank Endean Rd. around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday when the tragedy happened.
