After learning she doesn’t have to do time, Chair Girl was enjoying a beverage from the bar. Or at least from a metaphorical one at a friend’s home, where Marcella Zoia celebrated with pals following a judge’s decision to spare her incarceration for throwing a chair from a condominium balcony in 2019. Instead of jail, the 20-year-old received two years of probation, 150 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine. No wonder she was celebrating. “Zoia committed a very dangerous act,” Justice Mara Greene told the court, adding it was a “selfish act” for “her own pleasure and vanity in the moment” that could have resulted in “disastrous results” with someone “hurt or killed.”
