In an unprecedented display of barbarism, China’s military has committed an atrocity against Indian soldiers that is unparalleled in modern warfare. At least 20 unarmed Indian soldiers were beaten by clubs and thrown thousands of feet over cliffs to their death at the India-Tibet border. The two Asian giants straddle the Himalayas with a 4,056 km border. Their conflict goes back to China’s invasion of Tibet in 1959 and India’s decision to allow the fleeing Dalai Lama to establish his Tibetan government in exile. This led to the Chinese invasion of India in 1962 with Beijing scoring a decisive military victory, capturing and annexing India’s Aksai Chin region.
