When Justin Trudeau was first elected, he would get sucked into long, rambling interviews with reporters and invariably have to apologize for “saying the right thing, the wrong way,” as one adviser put it. More than a decade later, he has learned the hard way. At his morning press briefing, he was asked to comment on the tear-gassing of peaceful protestors in Washington, so that President Donald Trump could pose outside St. John’s Episcopal Church, holding a Bible. Trudeau paused…and paused…and paused – 21 seconds in total.
