It’s legitimate to debate whether it’s wise for everywhere in the country to loosen their lockdowns right now, or just the places where infection rates are low or declining. But the above questions are what’s been featured in various news headlines and stories that have been cropping up recently, seeming to imply that if it is still too dangerous to open up Quebec and Ontario, then maybe nowhere should reopen. If, indeed, Ontario and Quebec should slow down their relaunches because the coronavirus is not going away in those provinces, the attitude seems to be that the rest of the country should stay in some kind of solidarity lockdown whether they need to or not. But Canadians whose provinces are doing a better job should not be held back from relaunching.
