Grocery Gateway is setting delivery dates two weeks after shoppers place orders for food. Normally, the Longo’s-owned operation delivers groceries on the same or next day. “Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a 400% increase in orders through our Grocery Gateway website and app,” Longo’s vice-president Joseph Longo said in a statement Tuesday. “At this time, most delivery windows are 2 weeks from the order date. We are working diligently to reduce the wait by hiring more shoppers to complete orders and increasing in-demand items to ensure everything on our website is available to be delivered to guests’ homes.” Grocery Gateway requires a minimum purchase of $50 to qualify for delivery, and there is a $9.99 delivery fee.
