It’s the term you hear over and over again when you talk to health officials: “flatten the curve.” The goal is to ensure that any spike in COVID-19 cases doesn’t happen until after the flu season is over, or at least until it is on its way out. Normally, flu season wraps up in much of Canada by April — keeping COVID-19 cases at bay until then would give hospitals time to recover from the strain brought about each year by the flu season.
