Peter Johnson may be the first beneficiary of the Ontario Court of Appeal ruling on new jury selection rules in a Toronto courtroom. The former co-leader of one of Toronto’s most notorious gangs will walk free on Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter Monday — four days after a mistrial was declared. The trial was scrapped because his jury was chosen under new rules, instead of the old ones, which the highest court ruled was an error on Thursday.
